The Baltimore Orioles and veteran reliever Craig Kimbrel on Wednesday reached an agreement on a one-year deal for 2024 with an option for 2025.

Kimbrel, 35, is a nine-time All-Star who last pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2023. He began his career with the Atlanta Braves, where he was named National League Rookie of the Year in 2011.

The right-handed pitcher went 8-6 with a 3.26 earned run average and 23 saves last season. Kimbrel struck out 94 batters through 69 innings pitched in 2023.

Kimbrel has also played for the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Through 14 seasons, Kimbrel has a 2.47 earned run average and 1,192 strikeouts in 757.1 innings pitched. He has also notched 417 saves.
